Primorsky Krai will become an MTZ sales center in the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia, Vitaly Vovk, the director general of the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark), said at a meeting of the working group on cooperation on 24 November, BelTA learned from the MTZ press service.

The Belarusian delegation headed by Mogilev Oblast Governor Leonid Zayats arrived in the Primorsky region last week. It includes Industry Minister Piotr Parkhomchik, representatives of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, and directors of major industrial enterprises in Belarus.

"We are grateful to the leadership of Primorsky Krai who has promptly processed our proposal for the list of products of Belarusian engineering companies for sale in the region for the next three years. This is important for work planning. We have decided that the Primorsky region will be the sales center for our products in the Far Eastern Federal District," Vitaly Vovk said.

He also expressed appreciation for the prompt allocation of the site for an exhibition and sale of Belarusian machine-engineering products. "We will offer not only tractors, planters and so on. We will offer technology," he assured.

“During the current visit it became obvious that the potential in cooperation between Belarus and the Primorsky region has not been fully realized,” Vitaly Vovk stated. “Interaction with the Minsk Tractor Works could also be more effective. If a product such as BELARUS-82 is widely known and actively used, there is scarce information about our new vehicles. Meanwhile, in recent years we have rolled out many modern models that allow farmers and utilities to work even more effectively,” Vitaly Vovk noted.

He also outlined another promising avenue of cooperation - the supply of snow-grooming and ice-filling machines produced by the Minsk Tractor Works. "This is a universal product: in winter it paves tracks and fills ice, in summer it cleans the territory," Vitaly Vovk explained.

Supplies of Belarusian vehicles were discussed during the talks in the Vladivostok city administration on 24 November. The city's demand for passenger, utility, ice-filling and snow-grooming vehicles.

MTZ is one of the world's largest manufacturers of agricultural machines. The MTZ holding company comprises ten enterprises and operates 25 assembly facilities abroad. The manufacturing division employs over 16,000 people. MTZ products are represented in over 60 countries.
