Military drill kicks off in Belarus

A military drill has begun in Belarus. It will be conducted under the supervision of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister Viktor Gulevich and will run until 14 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Defense Ministry.

“The main goal of the exercise is to teach the military command bodies of the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations of the Republic of Belarus uninterrupted force management while performing tasks,” the ministry noted.

To drill will be held on the military exercise area Brestsky and in some areas of Minsk Oblast and Vitebsk Oblast.

Military attaches accredited at the Defense Ministry were invited to monitor the active phase of the exercise. This will help ensure maximum transparency of the drills and strengthen regional security and the belt of good neighborliness.

During the exercise, military units will practice holding combat (special) operations to liberate an area temporarily seized by an enemy, regaining control over the state border in the zones (areas) of responsibility, providing air support for troops, ensuring martial law by force, fighting against the enemy's hit squads and illegal armed formations.
