The Ministry of Communications and Informatization of Belarus has drafted a concept of the state program “Belarus' Digital Development” for 2021-2025, BelTA learned from the ministry.

The draft concept provides for measures to develop modern information and communication infrastructure, introduce innovative solutions in economic sectors and smart city technologies, and ensure information security of such solutions. Plans are in place to concentrate efforts on improving public electronic services. This will ensure the use of modern technology to access public services throughout the country, excluding “digital divide” between urban and rural areas, the ministry said.

The customers of the program are government bodies, local executive and administrative bodies, as the events of the program will concern the development of smart city technologies. Domestic enterprises will be actively involved in the digital transformation of the real sector of the economy.

According to the ministry, it is also planned to develop augmented reality, wireless communication technologies, internet of things, industrial internet, robotics components, sensorics and other areas.

“The focus will be on a bank of standard solutions for digital development, which will allow accelerated implementation of solutions based on advanced technologies in various industries,” the ministry stressed.

Given the leading role of information technology in the life of modern society and economic development processes, the ministry offers all stakeholders to take part in the consideration of the draft concept, including for the identification of priority projects. Proposals to supplement the draft concept or initiatives on activities can be submitted to shapkina@mpt.gov.by through 7 August.
